1️⃣ Download this Template

To get the template, just click "Duplicate" in the top right corner, letting it replicate in your Notion workspace.

Once downloaded, feel free to modify any sample contents.

2️⃣ “Explore More Sections” - All your important documentation pages!

Please avoid deleting any pages within the dedicated section titled "▶︎ Explore More Sections." These pages function as alias pages containing all the essential sections for this documentation template. Deleting them could result in the loss of your page contents. Each section listed in the “Table of Contents” (located on the left side) is linked to these pages (feel free to modify or delete this one, as it just serves as a reference link).

I've labeled it as "▶︎ Explore more sections" to offer a convenient navigation feature alongside the left-side table of contents, rather than using a simple "Do not delete" label.

3️⃣ Synchronized Elements

Synchronized elements are applied to:

This allows you to effortlessly propagate content changes across all pages, reducing the need for manual copying and pasting. Synchronized elements are Identifiable by red boxed elements when hovered over.

You can also unsync elements by left-clicking and selecting "Unsync All" if they're unnecessary.

UPDATES

In response to the issues reported, I've made adjustments due to challenges in sharing Notion pages publicly with synchronized elements. The synchronization feature has been temporarily removed.

Originally, synchronized elements, identified by red boxed elements when hovered over, were aimed to simplify content updates across all pages, reducing the necessity for manual copying and pasting.

However, this feature was causing unexpected problems, including restricted modification of duplicated templates and potential redirection to external pages.

With these adjustments, you're now free to modify elements without any restrictions. Please stay tuned for further updates and improvements.

Please note that you might need to re-download the template to see these changes.

4️⃣ Creating a New Page

To add a new page or section to the technical documentation, navigate to "▶︎ Explore More Pages" at the very bottom of the home page, and click the "+ NEW" button. This action generates a new page using the default documentation template I've provided, allowing you to access and modify the content within.

5️⃣ Adding a Newly Created Page to the "Table of Contents"

To include a recently created page in the "Table of Contents," type its name as text, select the text, triggering a toolbar to appear. Click "↗︎ Link" and enter the page name in the search bar. This process successfully links the page you've created to the table of contents.

6️⃣ Incorporating Sub-Contents into the "Table of Contents”

Headings or sub-headings inside each documentation pages can be accessed as anchor links by generating its block links. To do so, click on the heading text you want to link to, which will display a popup menu. Select "Copy link to block." Next, navigate to the "Table of Contents" and, in your desired location, enter the name of the target heading text. Highlight the text, then use either Ctrl + V or right-click and select "Paste." This will enable the table of contents to not only navigate to page levels but also to specific headings and subheadings.

7️⃣ Syncing Elements (i.e., "Table of Contents") Across Pages for Consistent Content Updates

Syncing elements across pages in Notion is a handy feature that allows you to maintain consistency and streamline updates. Here's a step-by-step guide:

  1. Identify and Select the Element: Choose the element you want to sync, such as the "Table of Contents." Click on the element, and type "sync." This will prompt the "Synced block" option.

  2. Convert to Synced Block: Click on the "Synced block" option to transform the selected element into a synced block. You'll notice it's now identified by red boxed highlights when hovered over.

    Untitled

  3. Copy and Sync: Click on the synced element (the one with red boxed highlights), revealing the "Copy and sync" option.

    Untitled

  4. Paste Across Sections/Pages: Navigate to your desired section or pages and use Ctrl + V (or right-click and select "Paste") to paste the synced element. Now, your elements are synced across different sections/pages. Any modifications to the original synced element will automatically update all other synced instances!

That’s it! Thank you very much for downloading this template 💌
